When you replenish your body, especially with water, it gives you more energy, and all those symptoms go away. You can always tell if you’re properly hydrated when you don’t feel as thirsty and your urine isn’t dark in color.

Cure for headaches

Another symptom of being dehydrated is headaches. Often times we get headaches and can’t figure out why and little do we know it’s simply from not drinking enough water. If you drink more water, you will reduce your headaches. If you have a headache, chugging cold water really fast will help it go away.

Clearer skin

Drinking more water can clear up your skin like nothing else. I often get complimented on my healthy glowing skin since I’ve been able to get more water in daily. It won’t happen overnight, however, but drinking a healthy amount of water longterm can have great effects on your skin.

Weight loss aid

Water is one of the best tools for weight loss because when you opt to replace sugary drinks with water, you are cutting calories. Also, water is a great appetite suppressant. Many times, we think that we’re hungry, when really we are just really thirsty. Water is pure and has no calories, carbs, or sugar, so drink up and you’ll lose the pounds.

Water is the best tool for cleansing the body by flushing out toxins and waste products from the body. Water fasting is very popular especially in people who don’t have the best diet. They will fast and only drink water for a day or two to cleanse their system of all the junk and feel replenished.

So, now that I’ve shared with you the benefits of drinking water and all the reasons why you should add more water into your diet, I’m sure you’d like to know how you can form the water habit. Recommendations say that the average adult should drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day, which is referred to as the 8×8 rule, but exactly how can you get that much in? Here are some tips on how you can drink more water.

Carry a water bottle

Most people find that it helps them to get more water in by keeping either a plastic bottle or a gallon jug of water filled to drink from all day. I find it easier for me to keep a tumbler of water filled and with me at my desk all throughout the day while working. When I’m at home and I’m watching shows on Hulu, I will chug it during commercials or I’ll continuously drink while playing games at Pokerstarscasino. This really helps me to get more water in on a daily basis.

Set reminders

Many people are forgetful and like to be reminded of things, so setting reminders for yourself to drink more water, whether you’re using an app on your phone or just old fashioned sticky notes, is a great idea. Set the reminder to go off every thirty minutes or so, so that you won’t forget to drink your water.

Substitute water

If you know that you normally have coffee, juice, or soda with your meal, then opt to substitute those unhealthy drinks for water. If you’re like me and like the bubbly taste of soda, then try out sparkling water, which comes in numerous yummy flavors. If you are at a social function and everyone is drinking alcohol, mix your drink with water. It tastes just as good as any other mixer and you’re less likely to get a headache the next morning from drinking too much.

Picking up exercising can really help you to drink more water because working your body makes you thirsty and who would want soda or a sugary drink during exercise? Exercising will not only help you drink more water, but it’s good for you, so you’re benefiting two ways. Be sure to drink enough water before you begin exercising and while you are exercising to stay hydrated.
